Overjoyed at finding a natural dye that works so beautifully!I am overjoyed at finding this product! After years of dyeing with 'safer' less harmful dyes, my scalp started to burn up and reject the chemicals. I really didn't think natural dyes could be effective on my mostly gray hair. I was pleasantly surprised! The colour holds so well! My natural colour is black. The dark brown dye produces a soft brown that fades gradually. The whole process takes five hours total. The indigo/ second step takes two and a half hours to set. I dye every 4-5 five weeks as my hair grows fast. All in all, I love the result!
I have tried a couple of other henna products and still come back to this brand. After using this product for many years, I have come to combine Steps 1 & 2 into just one step, so it actually does not take as long as it needs and the result is just as good. The reason why I tried other products is because the dark brown is often out of stock. Hopefully, iherb stock up this colour more to keep up with demand.
Have been using this henna hair color for many years. It covers my gray hair. I leave the 1st step on for 15 min and the 2nd step for 40 min. Scent reminds me of matcha/green tea. The color does not fade. Glad I do not need to use the chemical poisonous dyes that dry the hair out. Also want to note, do not use apple cider vinegar rinse during your dying process as affects your hair cuticles to not accept the dye.
I have been using Light Moutain's "Color The Gray", for years. It is pretty much the only product of its kind, in the field of henna hair colouring. Unlike other henna products, it is designed to color over gray hair. And it does this using all natural herbs. No ammonia, no harsh chemical dyes, like products found at pharmacies. Although it's a 2-step process, it does work quite well, and leaves the hair feeling soft and shiny. Also, iHerb had the best price on the net, on this!
I've been using regular henna for a long time but lately I have some more white hairs that don't seem to cover. I got this one to give it a chance and was pleasantly surprised- the cover is great! cons- the color does start to fade slowly the more times you wash your hair. also there are more stages that regular henna so it takes a few hours to get done..
